What it’s like to work with me

I merge depth based practices with behavioral interventions to address both the root of the problem and how we can show up more effectively right now.

Many of my clients come to therapy as people who are successful and hardworking but inside are struggling with being worn out, disconnected, frustrated, and out of control. They are dealing with things like anxiety, overwhelm, overthinking, numbness, anger and frustration, disconnection in their relationships, difficulty understanding how they feel, and frustrated in their communication with others.

Sessions with me feel warm, straightforward, collaborative, and practical. I work with my clients to recognize and effectively understand their emotions, increase their ability to tolerate discomfort, communicate effectively and collaboratively with others, feel more in control of themselves and their lives, improve their personal and professional relationships, and feel more connected to themselves and others.

Progress looks like less overthinking, an increased internal sense of control, fewer emotional blowups or shutdowns, better communication, improved relationships, and a stronger sense of being connected with yourself and the world around you.

“We are moving in the midst of forces far greater than ourselves, yet we have voice and choice within those forces. We may not be able to command the stars or the winds, but we can learn to read them better and to set our sails and our actions in ways that serve our movement.”
― Michael J. Mahoney, Constructive Psychotherapy
